Do you agree or disagree with the following statement…?

Data quality is critically compromised when double-barreled questions/statements are used in market research surveys and researchers who write them into their surveys should be shot.

;P

    Neither agree nor disagree…

  2. Agree. A good researcher would (or should) know better.

Agree that double-barreled questions cause data problems – or more specifically data interpretation problems. Also agree that good researchers should know better.

Shooting the offenders might be a bit extreme, though. ;)

  4. I believe that’s a double barrelled statement Katie, what should we do to you? ;P

  5. Ubu.roi – LOL.

    Deborah – Indeed!

Ed – You’re right; the problem is one of interpretation. P.S You’re only allowed to agree or disagree. Full stop.
    : P

Di – Quite! To make my double-barreled point! ; )

  6. LOL, I love this. (And I agree with the statement, as long as we can shoot them in the leg or something. Nothing fatal.)

  7. Oh, now you’re just playing with my mind.

  8. Welcome back Katie!

    Agree… Agree.

One of my #surveytip tweets is about this: http://twitter.com/triberesearch/statuses/7984783204

Amazing how often it is done.

  9. Is shooting the only option? death by survey taking might be better.
