A side of porcupines?
13Nov08
I’m looking for some porcupine snacks; some brain food. Doesn’t even have to be healthy.
If you’re a blogger, I’m hoping you might help.
Have you ever written a post that you really, really liked? Or if you’re not sure that you really, really like any of your posts, do you at least have one that you like a bit better than the others?
Care to share? If so, leave a link to your blog post here.
It doesn’t have to be recent, and it doesn’t have to be a post that’s attracted billions of comments. Or even one comment. The only criteria is that you, personally, liked it.
The bloggers’ cut, if you like.
I’ll add mine later.

I like my response to Blue Milk’s feminist mother meme:

And this one, because everyone got so excited and interesting memories ensued:

Two of my recent posts have garnered substantial responses. Its probably no coincidence that I spent a lot more time researching and writing these posts than most of my efforts. Who would have thought that more effort would reap rewards? Heh

You shouldn’t ask those questions…anyway, here is one I thought was quite good.

How about yours?

Fantastic! These are great reads.
Knowing they’ve been personally chosen really adds to the reading experience somehow too.
: )
Anyway, I quite like these (which are actually one post split into two):

http://zebrabites.com/2008/09/03/so-should-we-be-worried-2/
And of course, my thinly masked dig at baby/toddler food marketing. Quite liked that one too;

You know, sometimes I re-read what I thought was good, and find that it was — let’s say “average” to be kind. But I still like this piece on the role of the business designer/change agent:

And I keep thinking that I should finish the series I started on The Future of Your Brand:

For no partiuclar reason (because, let’s face it, itas always the most recent stuff that seems most significant and relevant), here are three from the archives (if two months’ worth of blogging honesty consitiutes an archive)…
From the ‘think’ side of the blog, here’s a post on stuff I believe…

From the ’story’ side of the blog, try this post on the difference between fake and real and the terrible state of free-to-air television… http://mattjonesblog.typepad.com/think_story_experience/2008/10/fake-sucks.html
And finally, from ‘experience’ stream here’s one on the rights and wrongs of sponsorship activation at music festivals…

More great links. Thank you all!
Such a diverse mix of topics, but all underpinned by wonderful thinking and writing.
I’d love to make this a regular thing (every few months or so).
Hello Katie. I was not able to elicit a response for this post I’m sharing (perhaps due to my limited readers base at the moment). However, I hope first time self-publishers in Australia will find the experience I went through – in getting my book listed online and pitching to distributors / bookstores – useful.

Thank you.
Thanks Janette – very useful!
Jinjirrie – I tried leaving a comment on your blog, but it just shows a “Fatal error”!
Hi Katie … I’ve just updated my WP – have fixed the error now and thanks
Hi Katie
I’m so in love with the picture on this post, it’s inspired me.
These are my favourite tiny morsels for today:

Hello Katie, it’s always the case that the posts you like as a blogger never turn out to be the most popular ones (those dumb readers, eh). So, thank you for giving this one a second chance!
It’s quite a long one, which as I say in the post is probably part of the problem. It was a response to the ‘Is Google making you stupid’ line that took hold over the summer, my post was all about how the 200+ links I have are like steroids for the mind that reduce my attention span and make me reflect less:
http://www.thisisherd.com/2008/06/pumping-iron-or-is-internet-dulling-our.html
The posts I’m most proud of, get the fewest comments (unless I pester people to repeat their emails in the comments).

10 ideas for wealth creation without a job.
What a wonderful idea. I’m only half-way through everyone else’s comment posts (and looking forward to finishing) but I got too excited! I want to add mine!
Although it’s being tacked on 4months after the fact; I hope it’s deemed ‘better late than never’.
Just gotta say again how much I love this idea. Your friends and loved-ones are NEVER interested in reading your work. What’s with that? The best birthday gift – or even romantic anniversary gift – I could imagine is a partner saying, “I would like to read everything you’ve ever written.” Ha! Yeah right…
Well, I’m glad for the chance to expose a small snippet to some others who MIGHT read it. Nice work Katie

Thanks Carlee!
Loved the read and your other website’s looking good too!
